SCW Mission Statement

The Seahawk Writing Center helps members of the Stephen Decatur family develop important writing skills that are applicable in everyday tasks, as well as academia. By having a space run by students for student, we create a comfortable, casual, and productive environment. Through the safe tutor-tutee partnership, we encourage and inspire writers to be the best they can be. We believe that writing has they power to transform all lives. 

ABOUT OUR TUTORS...

All of the tutors are high school students who wish to use their talent for writing to help others. However, learning a little bit about each of them may be beneficial before your first visit.  You can always ask for a specific tutor if you find one you want to work with!
